Tom, as a Master Shipfitter and an Engineer, has been around boats his entire adult life since his stint in the US Coast Guard as a Marine Inspection Officer. He has been restoring boats since 1967, from 1939 Coast Guard surf rescue boats to early 1900s steam launches and power boats of all types.
Will has been with the BoatArt team since 2018. He was introduced to wood boats while living in New Zealand where he helped restore a traditional Maori Waka (a war canoe of up to 130 feet made by the indigenous people of NZ).

Hannah graduated from the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding in Port Hadlock, WA in 2010. She moved to Minnesota shortly after, met Tom, and became an employee of Boat Art in 2011. She’s continued to gain experience working alongside many talented boatbuilders young and old, from The Bronx to the San Francisco Bay. She’s led students on smaller new construction builds for Urban Boatbuilders, Wind & Oar Boat School and Rocking the Boat in NYC. She’s also been a part of numerous large craft restoration projects along the Hudson River and throughout the Upper Midwest.
